The Texas Concrete Pipe Association has been busy this week at CECON 2017 in San Marcos. Personnel from Rinker Materials, Forterra, OldCastle, AmeriTex and ACPA have been on the ground. They have provided support at a leadership level, as part of the conference planning committee, vendor sponsorships and the BBQ Social Event.
Approximately 200 engineers attended the CECON BBQ Social, which took place at the Commemorative Air Force at the San Marcos Regional Airport. TCPA members sponsored this event attended by Association of Civil Engineers (ASCE) from across the state of Texas. They enjoyed themselves at the WWII era hangar looking at military planes that have made history. A B-25 Mitchell named “Yellow Rose” quickly became the focal point of the visitors. The B-25 was a medium range bomber that served in every theater of WW II. Another activity that both entertained and educated was TCPA’s Concrete Pipe Knowledge Scavenger Hunt. Attendees navigated WWII era planes as they wandered around the hangar seeking answers to the questions on the Scavenger Hunt questionnaire.
